Matthew 5:16

“In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”

At our church, the Doxology is a short, joyful song of praise that we sing at the beginning and end of our worship services. It’s our way of saying “Thank You, God”—not just for what we’ve given, but for who He is and how He continues to bless our lives.

The word “doxology” simply means “a word of glory or praise.” It’s been a part of Christian worship for centuries, and while the words may sound traditional, the meaning is always fresh and full of power.

The Doxology helps us shift our focus from our gift to the Giver. It prepares our hearts for the next part of the service with a spirit of gratitude and praise.

So when you hear the first note of the Doxology, feel free to stand, lift your voice, and join in with generations of believers who have sung these words in churches all over the world.
