Biography

Reverend Annette L. Brown, affectionately known as “Lady A,” is a devoted minister, speaker, and wellness advocate whose life is rooted in faith, service, health, wellness and fitness. She holds a Bachelor of Science in English: Print and Broadcast Journalism earned Summa Cum Laude from Coppin State University and has completed theological studies at Payne Theological Seminary. For over 30 years, she served in several capacities including that as a Paralegal with the City of Baltimore Department of Law and was a Wellness Champion for the Mayor’s Office, promoting health and balance in the workplace.

Ordained in 2006, Rev. Brown has ministered in the AME Church at Wright’s, Bethel-Port Deposit, and Mt. Olive-Salisbury, serving in teaching, evangelism, women’s ministry, and discipleship. She is the visionary behind W.O.W., S.W.A.G., S.P.A., S.T.Y.L.E.S., Forgiveness, and the A.C.E. Evangelism Curriculum. A certified Master Trainer, Aerobics Instructor, and Sports Nutritionist, she is the founder of Shapes & Curves by Design and a former Weight Watchers Coach.

Her community service includes board roles with the Cecil County Commission for Women and as a founding member and former director of the Elkton Colored School Museum (the first colored school for African Americans in Cecil County). Her Kingdom impact reaches globally, having provided ministry support and services to communities in Africa.  Rev. Brown currently serves as First Lady and Minister of Allen Chapel AME Church in Silver Spring, MD, alongside her husband of over 37 years, Pastor R. Kevin Brown, Sr. They are the proud parents of Kevin Jr. and Devin, daughter-in-love Grace, and grandparents to Makai. Her life is grounded in Psalm 150:6 – “Let everything that has breath praise the Lord!”
